Splendid Blends stocks an extensive range of premium traditional blends, plus a range of Splendid Blend special spice recipes. We can also create special signature spice blends on request. If you have a traditional spice blend we do not currently stock, Splendid Blends can blend it for you using only the finest, freshest quality spices.


Each Splendid Blends packet has serving suggestions and recipes, in order for you to cook up the perfect meal.

To ensure maximum product shelf life of Splendid Blends premium spice blends, keep spices in a dark, dry, cool place in an airtight container. Kept in this optimum way, our spice blends will last up to 10 months.

* CHERMOULA (MEDIUM) A Moroccan blend for barbeques or roasts. Mix into a paste with olive oil and lemon juice to make a marinade for lamb, seafood, chicken or vegetables.

* MOROCCAN TAGINE BLEND (NO CHILLI) A flavoursome tagine blend without heat especially suitable for fish, white meats and vegetables.

* RAS EL HANOUT (MEDIUM) A classic Moroccan blend combining the sweeter aromatic spices with chilli and rose petals. Makes a great tagine (try lamb & apricots) or marinade.

* PIRI PIRI (VERY HOT) A Portuguese / Mozambique blend popular in South Africa. Use as a marinade for barbequed chicken and prawns. Also try drizzling piri piri over fish wrapped in foilor banana leaves.

* DUKKAH (NO CHILLI) A traditional Egyptian dipping blend containing dry roasted hazelnuts and mint. Turkish bread dipped into olive oil and dukkah is a healthy snack or is great with drinks.

* PERSIAN ZA’ATAR (NO CHILLI) Another traditional Middle Eastern dipping blend combining pomegranate seed and walnuts. Great for dipping or try it over steamed vegetables or to coat chicken or lamb.

* SYRIAN ZA’ATAR (NO CHILLI) Another traditional Middle Eastern dipping blend. This one combines pistachio with aniseed. Full of flavour.

* SUMAC (NO CHILLI) A small tart & fruity deep reddish purple berry which grows wild throughout the Middle East. Great sprinkled over grilled tomatoes, rubbed into lamb or chicken, sprinkled over salads or vegetables.

* BAHARAT (NO CHILLI) A Middle Eastern blend for marinades, lamb shanks or slow cookers.

* KOFTE (MILD) A Turkish blend for meatballs or lentil balls. A lively blend of herbs and spices.

* THAI CURRY POWDER ( UPPER MEDIUM) It makes a spectacular Massaman curry. Cook with coconut milk.

* THAI STIRFRY ( MEDIUM) A blend bursting with the flavours of Thailand. It is great with noodles too.

* BUTTER CHICKEN ( MILD) A very popular northern curry that’s cooked with yoghurt and lots of fresh tomatoes.

* KASHMIRI KORMA (MILD) This spice blend is rich and aromatic with the addition of ground almonds. It is milder than the other curries. It is suitable for vegetables, seafood or meat. Cook this one with yoghurt too.

* INDIAN CURRY POWDER (MEDIUM) This is an all purpose curry powder, not too hot with lots of flavour. Suitable for a wide variety of vegetables, seafood or meat. This one outsells all my other curry powders.

* VINDALOO (HOT) A hot full flavoured curry blend from Goa.

* PUNJABI GARAM MASALA (NO CHILLI) A popular and versatile North Indian blend. Add to curries, make vegetable masalas, add to kokta balls and serve with yoghurt and mint.

* TANDOORI (MILD) A marinade for roast chicken, barbequed prawns, or seafood kebabs

* PANCH PHORON )NO CHILLI) A Bengali blend that makes wonderful dhal. Also makes a mean vegetable masala.

* FRIED RICE SPICE BLEND (MILD) A popular blend to make Malay style fried rice.

* SICHUAN STIRFRY (VERY HOT) This is a fiery blend that includes the 3 different types of heat of whole Sichuan peppercorns, chillis and ginger. It makes a fabulous fast stirfry. I use 3 colours of capsicum , onion, garlic & tofu.

* CAJUN SPICE BLEND (HOT) This is a New Orleans blend to make “blackened” fish or chicken.

* PAELLA (NO CHILLI) Make a traditional Spanish rice dish with the flavours of smoked paprika, saffron & rosemary

* PIZZA PASTA BLEND (NO CHILLI) A blend with lots of herbs , sun dried tomato & capsicum. Belisimo.

* SPECIAL SOUP BLEND (NO CHILLI) Just for the winter months. Add a couple of spoonfuls to just favourite soup.
